Chapter 6

Kaoru x Perverted!Reader it seems. Hmm… ENJOY!  Have an extra long chapter!!!
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I am seriously beginning to question why I’m always the one who ends up talking to him. He’s a nice person and all, it’s just a little annoying to have him questioning me all the time. Plus, he’s super intimidating, and it’s like if I say something wrong, he’ll get his personal police force and have me escorted out of the school!

You bit your thumbnail and stared at the grass. It was hardly a tough question, what Kyoya had asked of you, but you were nervous nonetheless.  Like always, you were overreacting, but he didn’t seem to mind, and you saw him as he just stared at you out of the corner of your eye.

Geez, he’s really intimidating. You gulped.

“I don’t know,” you said quietly, looking up from the bright green grass, earning a smirk from the glasses host.  Gosh, I’m just making this awkward.

His glasses glinted in the sun as he continued to smirk. “No, huh? For me, it’s easy to tell from just a glance…”

You found yourself sighing, and replying with a monotone, “What do you mean, Senpai?”

He sent you a smug look, and then continued on talking. “Well, first off, Hunny-sempai is more cute than refreshing. So he’s out, am I not correct?” he peeked at you over his glasses, and you nodded, not getting where he was going with this.

“With Tamaki, he’s refreshing…” Kyoya paused, looking away from you, “When he keeps his mouth shut.” his dark grey eyes snapped back to your form, and you blushed under his scrutinizing gaze. “And he’s too heated up to win this contest. He’s out.”

You nodded again, finally getting what he was talking about. “W-wouldn’t Mori-sempai be out of the contest as well?” he didn’t look away from you, and you paused to think what you were about to say carefully through.  “S-since he’s always attached to Hunny-sempai, h-he wouldn’t stay in the contest just because of a room in this pension if his closest friend is out, right?” You felt your face blush a deep red at the words you had said. Am I being too bold?? What if he glares at me? Military police officers popped up in your head, and you groaned inwardly. Or am I just overreacting… again?

Thankfully, instead of flipping out (which, mind you, seemed completely un-Kyoya like), the scary Host nodded, seeming to agree with you. “Right. So that also gets him out, even if he is one of the most ‘refreshing’ hosts here.”  he rested an elbow on the small table, resting his chin in the palm of his hand, tapping his chin with fingers.  He looked to your right, where Mori stood, chopping firewood for whatever reason.

Misuzu-chii probably put him to the task for only obvious reasons… you thought, craning your neck a bit to see two girls inside the pension, staring at him and practically drooling. You rolled your eyes and looked back at Kyoya, who was watching with raised eyebrows and a smirk as well ( I don’t even ship it but hey it’s fun to write don’t judge xD)

“Which means…” a voice sounded from your right. You jumped, and Kyoya turned his raised eyebrows and smirk to you.

“That clinches it for us, all right.” Kaoru and Hikaru sat at the table next to you and Kyoya. You struggled slightly to remember which was which, and felt a slight hint of embarrassment hit your cheeks when you couldn’t.

“But…” the three hosts looked at you as you spoke, “If I remember correctly, wasn’t there only a single bed in the room that we’re holding for you Hosts?” you tipped your head to the side, confused. “Even if you two won, only one of you could stay…”

The twin in the green looked away, seeming annoyed.

“That’s fine.” he said somewhat sharply, “We’ll just bring a bed from our family’s cottage to the room.”

Blue twin decided to pipe up, and it was at this moment you remembered that he was Hikaru. “Even if we don’t, we can squeeze ourselves in and sleep together.”

A smile found its way onto your face, despite the sour attitude of Kaoru. “You two are always together, huh?”

Kaoru faced you again, and you saw his cheeks were a bit pink. He smiled as well.

“Well, yeah,” he said, his cat-like eyes focusing on you, “We were together when we were born, and we never really had any other friends.” He tore his gaze from you, and mimicked his brother, who had begun to look across the yard and out into the street, where you could see people walking peacefully. A girl and boy that looked about your age walked by, the girl hanging onto the boy’s arm. The boy leaned down to tell her something, and they both laughed happily and continued walking down the sidewalk until all you heard was the echo of their voices. You looked down at the grass again, feeling a little sad from seeing that. They looked so happy together… ( *coughing awkwardly* )

Thankfully, Hikaru’s voice brought you from your glum mood, as he said, “We thought the whole world was made up of nothing but idiots.” he spoke with a happy tone, making you giggle and look up from the grass.

His smile dropped, though, as he continued, “But then…” he trailed off, still staring at the sidewalk in front of you. His twin took over, instead.

“We wouldn’t mind including you, though, ___Y/N___,” Kaoru said, tipping his head to the side, a smirk appearing on his face. You raised an eyebrow, confused.

“What do you mean-”

“How about the three of us sleep together?”

Oh.

You face began to heat up, and you shook your head frantically, trying to get images you think will haunt you forever out of your head.

Waving your hands in front of your chest in defense, you continued shaking your head, muttering, “No, I-I’m okay with s-staying in m-my room…” you stuttered out. You glanced at Kyoya frantically for help as he watched this all with amusement on his face.

Thankfully, he responded to your pleas. “The contest hasn’t been decided yet,” he said, pushing up his glasses, “There are many more ways to make this contest interesting…”

You found yourself groaning in your head again. Why is he always scheming something? It kinda makes him more refreshing, I guess, but…

Kaoru placed his hands on the table he and his twin were sitting at, standing up. “Huh? Kyoya-senpai, are you thinking of assisting his highness?”

“Even so,” Hikaru added, standing up as well, “We don’t intend to lose.”

It took you a while to remember that the twins were calling Tamaki ‘his highness’ or ‘Tono’ whenever they were wanting to bug him.

Kyoya simply stood up, smiling, and left the yard.

You hung your head, feeling confused.

What just happened….

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yay time skipppppp!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hours had passed, and throughout the afternoon, you had drank tea, put sheets on the lines (again, and again, and again), finished a bunch of chores with Haruhi, watched the Hosts fail at trying to be ‘refreshing’, and, most of all, tried to avoid Hikaru and Kaoru as much as possible.
You shrugged as you dried dishes beside Haruhi, who was washing them. The whole morning had been awkward after the little conversation you had had with the twins and Kyoya.
It wasn’t really that bad, you noted as you put away a big serving plate. It’s not like they did anything (that thought made you blush as well, though) to you. They were just trying to get you flustered, which, you noted bitterly, worked very well.
Hmmm….
Shaking your head, you sighed. What has gotten into me? I wasn’t like this before I met the Host Club.
But that thought made you smile instead of frown like you thought it would.
I guess that’s not exactly a bad thing, either.
Your smile quickly disappeared when Kaoru entered the kitchen, handing Haruhi the last few plates with a small smile of his own. He made eye contact with you, and quickly whipped around, leaving with a slight jog. You glanced quickly at Haruhi, worried that she had noticed the redhead’s frantic motions, but, to your luck, she stayed oblivious, smiling as she scrubbed the last plate.
As you finished the dishes, you shuddered. He had acted even weirder than Hikaru after your talk, and was trying to avoid you like you were trying to avoid them. Hikaru was more confused and oblivious, and whenever you walked by them, he seemed to be the only one that wanted to bug you.
“Owner! I am done fixing the fence~!!” a shout rang through the pension, making you and Haruhi jump in unison. Exchanging annoyed glances, you followed  the girl host out of the kitchen and to the back yard, where Tamaki and Misuzu stood. Hunny sat in his chair, still eating cake, and you vaguely wondered how many cakes he had eaten that day. You laughed under your breath as you saw the work that Tamaki had done to the poor fence, which looked even worse than when it was broken.
Misuzu turned around, his back to Tamaki, and said, “The finished work is completely unrefreshing,” he walked away, waving his arms behind him. “Minus three points.”
Tamaki returned to his corner near his poor fence, and Haruhi sighed, muttering, “He’s trying too frantically to be refreshing, so he’s neglectant in his work.”.com
A smirk etched its way onto your face, and you walked away absentmindedly, hearing Haruhi follow you. You wandered up to the front of the pension, where Hikaru and Kaoru stood, playing with the water hose. Sighing, you paused. Can’t really stay away from them forever, I guess.
“Hikaru, that’s cold!” Kaoru sputtered as his twin sprayed him with water. Blushing, you turned away, not really feeling the want to see this.
“S-sorry, sorry,” you heard Hikaru say between doses of laughter, “But hey, look, at least the watermelon is chilled.” he said, and you looked back, confused. The teenager pulled out said melon and looked at two girls that were watching everything happen with wide eyes. “Let’s eat it together with our guests.
The two girls glanced at each other, looking flustered, and started to squeal. “They’re so refreshing~!”
From the corner of your eye, you saw something fall into the bushes. Curious, you walked away from the twins, and towards the shaking greenery.
When you heard crying, you instantly regretted walking over. “A-are you okay, Tamaki-senpai?” you asked, your voice wavering. I really don’t want to do this… I’m terrible at comforting people…
He stared at the grass, on his hands and knees. You crouched beside him, resting a hand on his shoulder, feeling a little concerned as his eyes started to get watery. “Senpai…?”
“I have to make sure I get into Haruhi’s official ‘friends’ category!!!” he shouted, sitting up on his knees. Your hand dropped. Seriously? That’s it?
“S-senpai, aren’t you already in Haruhi-chan’s friend’s list-” you started, but got cut off when you heard someone walking behind you.
“Before going into how low you set your goals,” a deep voice started, “Could you try not to be so melancholy?”
You stood up very ‘gracefully’, stumbling back into a nearby tree as you watched Kyoya walk over to where you once stood. He turned his head to you and smirked as Tamaki whined, “Kyoya, can you not see that I am a father worrying over his daughter? Do you not understand that?”
A long pause hung throughout the air, and the bark from the tree began to dig into your back. Wincing, you struggled to hear Kyoya as he spoke, his gaze still locked on you.
“I will give you one piece of advice,” he said, crossing his arms, and finally turned his head towards Tamaki, “This is a trick only you can pull off.” He smirked. “Just don’t mess up your music collection.”
To your surprise, the blond stopped acting ‘stupid’, and instead gasped, focusing on Kyoya.
And once more, you were left in the shadows as they walked away.
What does he mean…?
________________________________________________________________________________________-
Needless to say, all of your questions were answered when music started to play throughout the pension. Smiling, you swayed slightly and walked around the ginormous house, yet another basket of laundry in your arms.
As you walked around towards the backyard, something, or rather, someone caught your eye. You paused and stopped walking.
“Huh? K-Kaoru? Y-you’re by yourself? Where’s Hikaru?” you asked, walking up the small steps to where the boy stood, leaning against the wooden rail, staring out into the streets.
His bright eyes flicked towards you, and it took him a while to answer, before he said, “He went to go get some garbage bags.
You opened your mouth in an ‘o’ shape, and walked past him, stopping only to ask, “Do you think you’re going to win the contest?”
“I’m not sure.” he said, and you whirled around to meet his gaze. “That’s Kyoya-senpai for you. His highness didn’t even realize there was a piano in this pension.” he added, and it took you a while to realize he was talking about the soft piano music that was still playing in the background.
Right. Kyoya wanted to make Tamaki feel better, and so he reminded him that he can play the piano…
You closed your eyes, smiling, and fully turned your body to him. “Hey, Kaoru…”
He stood up straight, his eyes going wide slightly. “__Y/N__…?”
You opened your mouth to say something, something you actually had wanted to say for a while, but never really got to it, but giggling interrupted you. Looking up, you saw the two girls that Hikaru and Kaoru had helped that morning into the pension. They opened up the window of their room, and before you knew it, you were grabbed and pulled aside as a loud crash echoed throughout the pension, the piano music stopping abruptly.
“A-are you okay?” Kaoru’s voice asked you, which seemed noticeably closer than before. You began to slowly open your __e/c__ eyes that you didn’t realized you had closed.
The orange headed teen was right in front of you, shielding the… what was it? You peeked around his shoulder to see a vase broken on the ground a short distance from Kaoru and smiled, shaking your head slightly. He saved you from the vase. You looked up to see a small cut on his cheek, and your smile dropped.
“Oh my God! I’m so sorry! I’m so sorry! Are you two okay?” one of the girls screamed from the window above you.
Kaoru blinked at you, and turned away, giving a thumbs up to the girls. “It was close, but we’re safe.” he turned to you, worry suddenly stched in his features. “Right?”
You shuddered, and nodded quickly. “Thank you,” you said quietly to Kaoru, who simply smiled at you.
Kaoru!!!
You grimaced, pushing yourself up against the wall as Hikaru came into view, obviously having heard the loud crash. He ran to his brother instantly, grabbing his shoulder and inspecting his face. ( xD )
“Kaoru, you’ve got a cut on your face!” Hikaru stuttered, shaking slightly, widening his eyes.
However, Kaoru wasn’t as fazed by this. “Mmhmm, I got a little cut.”
Hikaru was struck with shock, and he collapsed on his brother, resting his head on Kaoru’s shoulder. “Don’t scare me like that ever again. Please. .” The words themselves were somewhat snippy, but the tone of his voice indicated otherwise. You tried to regain your breath from the scary incident, and watched helplessly as they played out their ‘brotherly love’ act.
I don’t think I’ve ever really thought about it before, but I hate incest.
But of course, like every minute that you spent with the Host Club, the quiet moment was ruined by Misuzu shouting from who knows where, “Bravo! Bravo!”
Hikaru and Kaoru pulled apart and stood up, with Kaoru helping you up as well. Blushing, you thanked him once more quietly, and watched Misuzu dance on the roof of the pension.
“What fantastic, refreshing, brotherly love! Misuzu-chii is touched! 100- no, 1000 points! Perfect scoooore!! The winners are the Hitachiin Brothers~!”
You stood back as the twins stared at each other, their expressions blank, After a moment of awkward silence, you placed your hands behind your back and coughed slightly. “Congrats.” you said quietly, trying to make eye contact.
To your surprise, instead of smiling and thanking you, they smirked, tipping their heads together. “Don’t mention it~”
Wait what.
“W-was that p-planned?” you asked, feeling horrible that you were probably one of their pawns. ( ayyyy Black Butler reference xD )
They exchanged glances, and shrugged.
“Well now, who can say?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Losing creativity so time skip!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“___Y/N___,” Haruhi said, catching your attention as you dumped dirty plates in a sink, “Can you go wait on the tables?” she looked up from washing even more of the dishes and at you.

Is this her way of avoiding the Host Club? You thought, smiling and nodding.

As you headed out, two very similar but somehow different voices rang through the dining area.

“-didn’t I, Kaoru? I don’t remember kicking you out of the bed.” Hikaru said, crossing his arms as he walked down the velvety stairs with his brother. “What was I really supposed to do?”

Kaoru didn’t seem impressed. “I slept on the cold floor, and now my back hurts.” he complained, glancing around the room, and finally noticing you. Your eyes met for a moment, before Hikaru tugged on his arm,  pointing to an empty table for them to sit at, and they walked away as you looked to the floor, blushing from embarrassment. You rushed over to tables that needed to be waited on,

After a while or running around, you finally got to the twins’ table, and immediately, before you could open your mouth, they started to talk.  ( Ouch xD )

“I’ll have breakfast,” Hikaru started, resting an arm of the back of his chair, and began to list off things that you probably couldn’t pronounce. When he was done, Kaoru started to do the same thing, and you resisted the urge to roll your eyes, and waited until they were done.

“Hold on,” a voice said, and instantly Haruhi was at your side.  You sighed a little in relief, you didn’t want to bring them the ‘bad news’ that this was the pension of Misuzu, not their fancy mansion. “We don’t have that on the menu here.”

Hikaru and Kaoru looked at her, then you, then back again. “Whaaaa-”

Hey, you! ” a blur went by your vision, and before you knew it, Kaoru’s head was laying on the table, and Hikaru was leaning back in his seat, almost falling over. Haruhi snorted as the blur stopped… blurring, and Tamaki came into view.  “Don’t be so fussy, you fiendish brothers!” he shouted, holding what looked like a pamphlet in his hand. You raised an eyebrow as he continued talking. “Do you think you're some sort of affluent aristocracy?!"

Kaoru brought his face up off of the table, and Hikaru sat back in his chair properly.

"Well, actually, it's the truth." the latter pointed out bluntly.

"And I might point out, so are you." the former added, their heads turned towards the 'king' so you couldn't see their expressions.

"Here we go." Haruhi muttered, and you bit your lip to keep yourself from laughing.

Tamaki shrugged. "'When in Rome, do as Romans do.'That's my.... general rule." he brought out a bright silver plate, and you had to shield your eyes from the glare.
"When in Karuizawa , enjoy Karuizawa. That's my ironclad rule."

He opened up the platter, and both you and Haruhi turned away as blinding light hit you. He began to name off weird food that Haruhi and MIsuzu had listed off throughout the timespan you had spent in the pension, but you tried not to pay any attention, and zoned out.

Until of course,  Kaoru piped up and muttered, "Why have you become..."

"Such a huge fan of Nagano?" Hikaru finished.

"What's Nagano?" you whispered to Haruhi quickly, and she pushed you lightly on the shoulder with the palm of her hand.

"He came here too early this morning, and had nothing else to do, so Misuzu-san showed him everything." she explained, only half to the twins, but also half to you, since you were cleaning all morning, and had never really walked out into the dining room to notice that the blond teen had appeared.

"Ah." you said quietly, and the twins looked at you, seeming confused.

Tamaki took this as a good time to keep on talking. "That's right," he said, and the twins looked away from you, and to you. "While you were slumbering away, I even made a guide for our training camp. Such is the thoughtfulness of your president."

"Y-you really did have a lot of free time, didn't you?" you asked, trying to be loud for once.
Tamaki waltzed over to Haruhi, leaning down and showing her the book. "Haruhi, while you are in training here, you are not to treat me as your Senpai. That is the first of the rules in here." he said softly, and Haruhi glanced at you, not seeming to like this.

"Look at this __Y/N__," Kaoru said, beckoning you over. "It's written in here that rule number 5 is to get up at 6 a.m." he looked at you as you walked over, and then at Tamaki. "Are Kyoya-senpai and Hunny-senpai observing these?" he asked, and you stared at him, confused.

As Tamaki hid in a corner of the shop and cried, Hikaru apologized for Kaoru, and Kaoru quickly explained to you what he meant, a blush dusting his cheeks for whatever reason. "Kyoya-senpai and Hunny-senpai don't have a very good relationship...."

You giggled, tucking the serving plate under your arm. "That's good to know, I guess."

“‘Lo! Arai produce!” a voice shouted out, and you hadn’t even noticed that the door to the pension had opened. You turned around, as did everyone else, to see a boy with a blue baseball cap. He was holding a bit crate that seemed to be full of fruits and vegetables.

Instantly Misuzu was at his side. “Oh, thank you so much! Wait, what’s this, a working boy? Are you in high school ???”

The boy smiled. “Yes, I’m just helping out at my uncle’s shop over summer vacation.”

As Misuzu was squealing about how refreshing he was, Haruhi made a noise that sounded like a gasp.

“Haruhi-chan, will you take these and put them in the refrigerator for me~?” Misuzu finally asked, his fangirling over for a while.

Haruhi nodded, and walked forward to grab the box, but was stopped when the boy’s hat fell off, and he stepped forwards.

“Haruhi?” the boy asked, and you gulped, glancing at the twins. “ Fujioka Haruhi?”

“A-Arai?”
